THE END FOR A CLUB LEGEND?

The End for a Club Legend?

Chelsea F.C. played their last game of the season against competition winners Leicester City this morning, the Blues finished the season 10th on the table, a huge drop considering they were the winners of the 2014/15 season last year. Earlier in the season, the clubs owners decided to let go of legendary Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho who was replaced by another ex Chelsea mangager Guus Hiddink as interim for the remainder of the season.

The end of the 2015/16 season for Chelsea also marks the end of Captian John Terry's contract. Terry has been a key first team player since his debut in 1998 and in the Chelsea youth sides ever since he was 14. John Terry has had an outstanding career with Chelsea, being their most successful Captain with 4 League titles, 4 FA Cups, 3 League Cups and the prestigious UEFA Champions League in the 2011/2012 season.

With the end of Terry's contract approaching, he has seen much interest from the American Soccer League and various Chinese teams as their marquee player, following in the footsteps of many other English Footballers such as Chelsea top scorer Frank Lampard and Liverpool great Steven Gerrard. At the end of Chelsea's match with Leicester Terry delivered an emotionally charged speech thanking the fans for their support whilst giving now indication whether he would stick with the club.

Chelsea has offered Terry a One Year contract extension but it remains unknown whether Terry will accept.
