IPL. Match 27: Sunrisers Hyderabad v Royal Challengers Bangalore at Hyderabad (Deccan), Apr 30, 2016

Worst performing players of Sunrisers Hyderabad
  • Shikhar Dhawan: The manner in with Dhawan was dismissed was disgraceful for a top order batsman. Dhawan, despite being a regular international player for India failed to capture the opportunities given to him (bad deliveries) by a failing bowler in Kane Richardson. Cricketers as young as 5 years old knows not to play across the line, however, Dhawan seem to not have learnt that lesson and gave his wicket away cheaply to Richardson in a simple caught and bowled. Perhaps international cricket is not for Dhawan and maybe 10-year-old club games is where he belongs. He really need to learn the basics first.

  • Moises Henriques: I have no idea why a person not good enough to play in the Australian national T20 side is worth any money to an Indian Premier League club. His first over is just as bad as his last. Giving away over 30 in those 2 averaging 15 more than runs an over. Although, his middle overs were okay he couldn't get his averages under 10, which is disgraceful. One can argue he did okay with the bat. However, he scored half of his runs through that useless bowler Kane Richardson. So is that really an accomplishment? I mean anyone that can hold a bat can score over 10 runs an over against Richardson. Australians struggle in Indian conditions that is a fact. Instead of paying for an below average oversea player that can't make the national team. Why not give a local player a chance? developing local talent should always be a priority in domestic competitions. In my opinion.
Worst performing players of Royal Challengers Bangalore
  •  Kane Richardson: Despite being a somewhat reasonable player in BBL (Australian Domestic T20 Competition), completely lost the plot this game. Giving away almost 11 runs an over, which is almost a quarter of Hyderabad's total. Don't let his first 2 overs of average bowling fool you into think he was decent. He bowled many unacceptable deliveries in the early overs, however, he got away with it because he was bowling to a struggling Shikhar Dhawan. His last 2 overs were what really told the picture. He went for over 30 runs from 12 deliveries which is more than 15 runs an over. Simply put, Australians struggle bowling in India conditions, against quality batsman.

  •   Virat Kohli:  Everyone in India thinks Kohli is bit of a god. However, I think he is way overrated. He failed to carry India in the semi-final of T20 World Cup against West Indies. He failed to carry India in the ODI World Cup semi-finals against Australia. I am not even going to mention how badly they did in the recent test series against Australia in Australia (Australia 4 - 0 India). Back on topic. Despite the fact, Bangalore is chasing a massive 194, Kohli feels he has the right to take his time with it. All well and good to get settled and get your eye in but you have to carry the game. You can't selfishly take up the team's resource (balls available) and produce no result. I call that a fraud. How can you let your team down like that by wasting 17 available balls for 14 runs? With only one 4 in his whole inning, this was a massive failure by the seemingly legendary player of India.
