Fails of the Match
Royal Challengers Bangalore
Parvez Rasool: This is why; I think the word
"all-rounder" is thrown around too much. How can someone with an
economy of over 12 an over and strike rate of double figures be possibly
considered a "all-rounder" in T20. 5 fours and 1 six in his 3 overs
pretty much means he bowled an over of boundaries. On top of that, not a single
wicket was taken in his spell. He should have just sat there and did nothing
and his team would have won easily. Often players with bad economy manages at
least 1 over of good, tight, stuff and lost the plot in other overs. This was
not the case for Rasool, he was bad every over. Giving away more than 10 an
over, consistently! Rasool has no counter to the batsman’s he bowled to, nor is
he able to adept his bowling plan. Rasool was bowling similar deliveries every
ball, and expecting different results. This was insanity and he should quit
playing professional cricket forever.
Rising Pune Supergiants
Thisara Perera: If you think Parvez Rasool was disappointing. Check out this failure of a performance
from Perera. Not that I think Rasool had any excuse for being bad, Perera is a
consistent intentional player for Sri Lanka. How can someone with this much
experience do so bad? Maybe he wasn’t taking enough drugs before this
match…With economy of over 13 an over, 5 fours and 2 sixes. If some random
everyday carpenter bowled with a blindfold on, he probably will bowl better
than Perera. What was most disappointing being his last over. Giving away 5
fours in one over and going for no less than 20 runs. I was completely lost for
words. Supergiants should not be paying Perera to play for them but Perera
should be paying the Supergiants for his spot on the team. The only logical
conclusion you can come up with for Perera’s performance is he was match
fixing. He was probably betting on himself to give away 40 runs.
