IPL. match 44: Royal Challengers Bangalore v Gujarat Lions at Bangalore, May 14, 2016

Fails of the Match

Gujarat Lions

  • Shivil Kaushik: one thing to give a youngest a chance. However, it's something completely different to give someone useless a chance. No excuse for a bowler to go for 50 runs in 3 overs. This is an average of more than 16 runs an over this is pretty much like giving away 4 boundaries every over. The last over was extra bad going for 30 runs. One can blame Kolhi and De Villiers was in great form. However, Kaushik did not bowl the right line and length making it easier for the batsman. Some IPL players are getting played while they are not ready.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

  • Chris Gayle: I really don’t know what to say about him. Gayle either set the stadium on fire with unstoppable batting or have one of the most awful performance of his life. That in itself is not a bad thing. Unpredictability makes great television. However, for the team’s perspective it is a nightmare for the coach and selectors. Chris Gayle clearly is not firing often enough. Maybe his age is getting to him. On a flat batting heaven of a pitch where 248 was scored in 20 overs. Gayle only managed 6 from 13. For a great batsman like Gayle he should be ashamed of himself.
